Feed Your Soul

iPod loaded with tunes?  Yep.  Sunroof engaged?  Check.  Thermos of Coffee?  Hot and ready.

I drove down the incredible California coast this week, passing through Monterey, California, where my good customer Khanh lives.  The ever changing landscape illuminated by the setting sun was calming and inspiring – forcing me to stop multiple times to feel the tepid misty breeze on my skin and breath deep the salty air.

Khanh is now the proud owner of a pair of Shindo Corton-Charlemagne KT88 amplifiers which will join his  Shindo Masseto and Hommage step up transformer.

East of Eden, indeed

I enjoyed rolling a road trip into a personal amp delivery, guaranteeing his new beauties arrived without a hitch.

Barbed Beauty

We carefully selected the CC80 amplifiers to be an excellent match for his current Wilson Benesch speakers.  These speakers require the power and precision that the Shindo Corton-Charlemagne series of amplifiers deliver in spades.

The Corton-Charlemagne series is composed of the 25 wpc EL34, 70wpc  KT88 and 70wpc Parallel Push Pull EL34 versions.  Which one is right for you, depends entirely on your speakers requirements.

A photo from my archives, a sweet pair of CC80's ready for action.

Khanh writes, ” Matt, It sounds awesome. I’ve never had a system at home that sounds as involving as this. It is such a joy to listen to music. Such a joy. “

Another one.. a few days later! —

” Matt, I’m a little sleep deprived this week from listening so much. It’s quite astonishing actually. It’s not about listening to mere sounds anymore, rather it  f e e d s  m y  s o u l.

I can’t see why anyone would want anything other than a Shindo.

Thanks so much. Khanh “

Thank you for the feedback, Khanh.

I appreciate emails like this, because it helps reinforce why I do what I do – and why I love it so.

  1. Matt,

Beautiful pictures of the coast and those CC80s, Western Electrics, and Latour are gorgeous! Always love your craft of photography. Thanks for sharing them and continuing to do what you do. Khanh, you’re one lucky man! Keep feeding your soul! 🙂

  2. Matt,

There’s nothing like a good road trip with beautiful scenery. Love the pix and Shindo amps. Stunning….

    It’s all about the music,

  3. Matt what beautiful pictures of the coast. I love to spend Saturdays driving up the coast on Hwy 1 and taking photos. I also love the prospective on the picture of the amps and Latours.

  4. I’ve lived in Cali for 8 years, and STILL haven’t done the coastal trip. Glad you made a trip out of it, I’m jealous! (the Shindo monos look mighty tasty as well 🙂

  5. The amps continue to sound great! For aside from the obvious talent behind the photography, what’s not mentioned in this post is what a stellar dealer Matt is…he is exceedingly knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy, and patient. Perhaps most importantly, he cares not so much about the sale, but utmost about YOUR MUSICAL experience. Like buying gear from a good buddy.
